Selling During a Divorce

One home, two people, and a sale that has to stay calm.

Selling a home during a divorce is a real estate transaction and an emotional one at the same time. You need an agent who works for the sale, not for one side, keeps both of you equally informed, and keeps the process moving when communicating directly is hard.

What Makes This Different

A divorce sale needs a neutral hand

01

Both of you, equally informed

Every update, every offer, and every decision point goes to both of you, in writing, at the same time. Nobody has to wonder whether the other person heard something first.

02

A price you can both agree on

Pricing is where couples disagree most. I bring real comparable sales so the number is based on the market, not on who wants to sell faster or who wants to hold out for more.

03

Working with your attorneys

If attorneys or a mediator are involved, I coordinate the sale around their timeline and any agreement or court order, so the real estate side never gets ahead of the legal side.

How I Work

Steady, discreet, and fair to both of you

I've sold real estate in Bend since 2007, roughly 200 transactions. A sale during a divorce uses the same skills as any other sale, accurate pricing, good preparation, and strong marketing, but it needs more patience and more care with communication than most.

In practice, that means I don't take sides, I keep conversations professional and documented, and I can schedule showings and decisions so you don't have to be in the same room if you'd rather not be. If one of you is staying in the home during the sale, we plan for that too. You both make the decisions. I keep the sale moving and keep it fair.

Confidential, No Pressure

Start with an honest number

Knowing what the home is realistically worth is usually the first thing both of you, and your attorneys, need. Send me the address and I'll put together a market value you can both look at. Oregon Licensed Broker #200704168, Bend Premier Real Estate.

  • A market value based on real comparable sales, shared with both of you
  • Clear, written communication to both owners every step of the way
  • A timeline that fits your agreement, not a rush to list

Not sure where to start?

A short, private conversation is often the easiest first step. No obligation, and nothing moves until you're both ready.
